Restore Dedicated Bike and Walk Funding in Federal Transportation Bill

If you just sent an email to your Congressional Representative about voting yes on an amendment to restore biking and walking funding, thank you. (If you haven't yet, please send a letter today!)

Some of you have one more important step to take: Call to Follow Up!

If you live in districts represented by the 4 Congressmen from the Delaware Valley who sit on the T&I Committee, PLEASE follow up and call their District Offices with the same message. Ask them to to vote YES for the amendment that restores dedicated biking and walking funding to the House Transportation bill in next Thursday's Committee vote.Tell them you are counting on them to put dedicated funding back into the House Transportation bill.

Port Authority Meets Feb. 1st to Consider Our Request to Restore Funding To ADA Accessible Ramp

Since early January, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and Tri-State Transportation Campaign has organized the submission of 15 letters from area organizations (including Campbell Soup and AARP New Jersey) and letters from Senators Lautenberg and MenendezRutgers-Camden and Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports and the comments from over 1000 petition signers asking that DRPA restore funding for the ramp in its 2012 Capital Program. 

On February 1st, DRPA's Finance Committee discussed a resolution to restore funding at the request of PA General Auditor Jack Wagner.  The topic was referred to DRPA Operations and Management Committee, which will meet on February 1st.  

We need to fill the meeting room on February 1st to show the depth of support for a ramp! Please Rally for the Ramp by attending the February 1st meeting.

Philadelphia's Give Respect Get Respect Enforcement Campaign

First announced on April 29th and rolled out on May 16th, "Give Respect Get Respect" is the City of Philadelphia's traffic enforcement campaign to address quality of life issues pertaining to road safety. "Give Respect Get Respect" is a joint effort of the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Health Department, Mayor's Office of Transportation and Utilities and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
